In ten years a lot can happen. For technology ten years can bring about many changes and advances that sometimes cannot be predicted and if they are predicted they can be behind by a few years. Technology is constantly changing and so is the web, from the programs that help make up the various sites to what we are provided with on the web. 10 Future Web Trends attempted to make predictions for future outcomes. I find these predictions have come to pass or are in progress. I can also agree with persons who addressed some of these trends. I agree that the trends chosen were not futuristic enough. Either this is not the case or technology caught up and ran ahead quicker than previously expected. The web trend post was written in 2007, it is only 2009. Two years later and a lot of these predictions are running wild; something new or advancements are just waiting to be unveiled.

Number 4 on the list was Mobile as in mobile web. I don’t think a day goes by that I do not find myself on some mobile device reading posts, emailing, sharing, carrying on a conversation etc. This trend is off its feet and soaring high.

Attention Economy is another one that is very popular. It becomes convenient for the consumer and very important for businesses especially when it comes to targeting. For instance once you visit a site they tend to ask you to sign up for alerts. Businesses would also use this information to send you items of interest. Which keeps the consumer up to date and involved with the company. Forming a good relationship with the customer and drawing them back in constantly.

At first I could not understand why someone would say “Functionality and usefulness are far more important to the success of your website than how nice and elegant it looks.” It puzzled me. I automatically pictured a web page that was nothing but a wall of text.

But there is enough evidence out there to prove the point. I mean there are sites out there that may have poor fonts and a generally bad layout, but at the same time the navigation is properly done. Finding everything is easy but the price you pay for this easy navigation can be an eye sore.

I found that the point that is being brought across is like saying a person is very beautiful that does not mean that person has a beautiful (intelligent) mind. Now a day most websites really do seem to focus on the aesthetic look. The site must be attractive to bring potential users to it and bring them back. It’s also visible that some sites even though poorly designed attract more users than ones that are made in some great image of beauty. This all may be true but at the same time it is very possible to have a beautiful well-made site that is fully functional easily maneuvered etc.

Readability is another issue. A lot of sites seem to follow the same trend same colors, same kind of type. Hopefully all sites do not start looking alike and that reading and understanding what is posted on a site is just as beautiful as laying your eyes on the site.

The article entitled, “10 Elements of highly effective articles,” offers tips on how to make a successful blog.

I find that the tips given in this article are both helpful and true. I can relate to some of the information especially because I absolutely hate reading lengthy articles that could have been much shorter and meaningful at the same time. Some may say that blogs are supposed to be content heavy but in reality not all people like being bombarded by content. Basically the key would be to make the information short and to the point, interesting, funny, and organized. Your blog will also have more success if you engage with your readers. Some of the elements explain you can do so by asking questions to gain comments on your article or topic, conducting tutorials and even giving your readers something to do. These things will keep your readers coming back for more. If you do not do things like this you cannot expect a lot of activity on your blog or success either. Some of us have an extensive vocabulary there is no need to show this off to your bloggers this will quickly drive them away.

Losing the me in multimedia was a great example of what too much content can do. You can’t finish your thought or get your full point across when you write TOO much, hence the second the virtue brevity. But it is a great article nonetheless. In general journalist and people on a hold need to learn humility, the first virtue. With it, a person can learn to take criticism, learn from others and learn to work as a team member. One person does not know everything there is to know about a single thing but collectively as a group a lot can be accomplished from the variety of knowledge from everyone involved.
